Happy Halloween!!

Our Halloween started with a party/trick-or treating at William's school.

Before heading to our neighborhood party that evening, we had to trick-or-treat at one special location.

 

Then obligatory pictures on the front step...

After some pizza at the Trices, we were off to knock on doors.  Daniel, who is generally our straggler on walks, was on fire.  We joked that he will do anything for candy!!

They hit many houses on the way to GranGran and PopPops.  When we finally arrived there, we found they already had a special trick-or-treater.  Notice she's wearing the gown I made for my October baby's first Halloween!

We eventually wrestled four tired, little boys to bed and enjoyed some Halloween candy for ourselves!

We're Home!

It is good to be home!!

 There's still much work to be done in order to call us settled, but we are home.  And for now, my favorite part is looking out my kitchen window and watching all four boys play while I cook.  No more screaming JohnJohn at my feet while dinner is cooking!

 

I love my new kitchen.  Hope to have you all over for a meal soon!

PS - Is it irony or life that the first meal I prepared (something Chris and I have been thinking about for quite some time) was chili and cornbread for the church?? 

Pumpkin Carving

Our new priest approached me about a month ago regarding a Halloween party at the church.  I agreed to help him plan it...thinking it sounded like a good time.  I had no idea we would be moving that day!! 

Oh well, it was crazy but I got four boys dressed in costume and left Chris at home to work.

First, we visited.

Crafts, chili, and dessert...and we were done.

A Busy Day

This morning was full!  It started with Daniel singing on the red steps for the first time. 

 

He and his class did great...despite the excitement of the Halloween parade to come!

After the performance, I shuttled William to school and John back home with Mom so that I could rush back to St. Paul's for the boys' Halloween parade.

Meet my two ninja...

Philip had it in his mind that he was going to be the 'green ninja' from Lego Ninjago.  Well the costume was sold out around the country, so I pulled out the sewing machine and got busy!

After their parties, we picked William up early and headed home exhausted!

Two Highs

William had two highs tonight at the dinner table.  In case you are out of the three year old loop, here's what makes a little boy's day.

First, a ride on the tractor with our contractor, Mr. Holmes.  He was so patient showing William how to start it, steer it, move forward and backward, and moving the scoop up and down. 

 William is going to miss our daily visits with Mr. Holmes and all of his crew.  He loves anything involving tools and has loved all of the action! 

Next, his sweet uncle invited him for a boy's day out.  Cameron treated William to lunch at Chick-Fil-A and then a fishing trip for just the two of them.

They were quite successful!  One on one time for any of my boys is such a rarity.  On top of that, William thinks Cameron hung the moon.  He talks about "untle tamwhen"  all the time.  Can't say thank you enough to Cameron for choosing to spend his off time with sweet William.

Needless to say, he's a little tired from all the excitement.

Seward Farms

Saturday brought our annual (although we skipped last year!) trip to Seward Farms.  The weather was great and the boys seemed to enjoy the space to run!

A great weekend that culminated with a little birthday party for Daddy.  We had Uncle Cameron, Aunt Heather, Dee, and Aunt Barbara over for dinner and cake.  Happy Birthday, Chris!!

Rite of Passage

This morning John achieved an important rite of passage in our house.

He got to sit "up high" with William while we made cookies for Philip's class.

He loved it!

For me, this is 'the Joy of Cooking'!!
